Malda: A man was beaten up severely by the local residents of Malda suspecting that he had stolen a motorcycle.
According to the details, it is another case of mob lynching which occurred in Malda, Kolkata. In this incident, a 20-year-old youth by name Sanaullah Shaikh died after local residents assaulted him physically. After his death, the situation became tense in the area.
SP of Malda District, Alok Rajoria informed that on Wednesday, the local residents had beaten up Shaikh Sanaullah who received serious injuries. Later, Shaikh was admitted to Kolkata Hospital where he died on Sunday during treatment.
On the basis of video footage which had gone viral, police arrested two persons.
According to the details, Shaikh Sanaullah was earlier shifted to Bidarabad Primary Health Center. When his condition deteriorated, he was admitted in Malda Medical College and Hospital. Since he could not recover there, he was shifted to SSKM Hospital, Kolkata where he died.
Senior Zilla Parishad official, Chandana Sarkar told that this incident should not be treated as a communal one. However, the entire incident is tragic. It was reported that Shaikh was earlier arrested under the charges of theft.
