Apex Muslim body in Assam hit out at Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi over their statements on National Register of Citizens (NRC) .
The apex body of 21 indigenous Muslim organisations on September 1 said that Imran has no right to interfere in the matter and Owaisi should stop spreading confusion. According to a leading news agency, Sayed Muminul Aowal, president of the organization said: Also Read Assam final NRC list: 10 pointers “ Imran Khan has no locus standi in Assam. Khan has no right to speak on Assam. He should keep his mouth shut. We are living in Assam for generations peacefully with our Hindu brothers,” he said in a statement.
Aowal also asked Owaisi not to provoke the people of Assam with wrong information on the issue of the final list of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam has been released on August 31. Speaking on NRC, he said, “BJP should learn a lesson. They should stop asking for NRC throughout the country in terms of Hindus and Muslims. They should learn from what has happened in Assam . The so-called myth of illegal migrants has been busted. Many people in Assam have told me that the parents’ names are included, but names of their children are excluded. For example, Mohammad Sanaullah, he has served in Army. His case is pending in High Court. I am sure that he will also get justice.”
