Srinagar: Encounter started between security forces and militants in Pinglan area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday leaving 2 militants, 4 security persons, and a civilian dead.
Reports said that a joint team of the army’s 55RR, CRPF, and SOG Pulwama launched cordon and search operation in Pinglan area after having credible input about the presence of some militants in the area.

A top Police officer was injured in an ongoing encounter at Pingleena area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.
Two militants and four soldiers including an officer of Major rank were killed and five other soldiers including a Lieutenant Colonel injured during the course of a firefight.
An army spokesman also confirmed the death of four soldiers including an officer of Major rank. He said that the identity and group affiliation of the slain militants are being ascertained.
