Champawat (Uttarakhand): A live mortar was found in Banbasa located near Nepal border on Friday. A man found the mortar in the garbage and informed the police later. Police neutralised the bomb and cordon off the area.
According to Champawat Superintendent of Police Dhirendra Gunjyal, the live mortar manufactured by the Indian Ordnance Factory was found in a garbage heap in Banbasa.
“We have informed the nearest Ordnance Factory unit. Further investigation is on,” said the SP.
