Hyd: Beloved attempts suicide as beau demands dowry to marry her

Hyderabad: Two year relationship took an ugly turn when the youth demanded dowry to marry his beloved. This incident took place at Film Nagar.
As per the details of the case, the youth who is identified as Lakshman was in a relationship with a girl for the past two years. When the girl asked him to marry her, the youth demanded dowry.
The girl who went into depression over the attitude of her beau made an attempt to commit suicide.
Later, her relatives rushed her to the hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
Based on the girl’s complaint, Banjara Hills Police registered a case against the youth.
In yet another attempt to eradicate the menace of dowry from the society, the National Commission for Women (NCW) launched an online campaign against dowry wherein people can go to the website and take an online pledge against the practice.
