New Delhi: A 36-year-old burglar who is known as a petty thief turned out to be a ‘crorepati’. He accumulated wealth by burgling houses.
On Thursday, police arrested the burglar, Kayyum for the sixth time. During the investigation, cops found Rs. 27 lakh cash and 2.25 kg of gold jewellery and other stolen valuables from his safe. He is also the owner of two flats worth Rs. 65 lakh and Rs. 47 lakh.
His flats have all the necessary furniture including double door refrigerator, gadgets and appliances.
It may be mentioned that Kayyum, a resident of E Block of Nand Nagri, Northeast Delhi used to burgle houses located at Laxmi Nagar, Patparganj, Vivek Vihar, Shakarpur and Mandawali.
Master Keys DCP (East), Mr. Jasmeet Singh said that Kayyum used to rely on master keys to commit the crime. Cops recovered 53 such keys from his possession.
Partner in crime Ayyub (40), the brother of Kayyum used to assist him in committing the crime. He also used to arrange bail for Kayyum.
