VALUABLE LESSONS

                    In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful An-Nawawi records in his book Riyad us-Saliheen: Abu Huraira, RadhiAllahu Anhu, reported: The Messenger of Allah, SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, said: كَانَتْ امْرَأَتَانِ مَعَهُمَا ابْنَاهُمَا جَاءَ الذِّئْبُ فَذَهَبَ بِابْنِ إِحْدَاهُمَا فَقَالَتْ صَاحِبَتُهَا إِنَّمَا ذَهَبَ بِابْنِكِ وَقَالَتْ الْأُخْرَى إِنَّمَا ذَهَبَ بِابْنِكِ فَتَحَاكَمَتَا إِلَى دَاوُدَ فَقَضَى بِهِ لِلْكُبْرَى فَخَرَجَتَا عَلَى سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ دَاوُدَ فَأَخْبَرَتَاهُ فَقَالَ ائْتُونِي بِالسِّكِّينِ أَشُقُّهُ بَيْنَهُمَا فَقَالَتْ الصُّغْرَى لَا تَفْعَلْ يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ هُوَ ابْنُهَا فَقَضَى بِهِ لِلصُّغْرَى There were two women, each of whom had a child with her. A wolf came and took one of their children, but the other woman said: it has taken your child. The first woman said: no, rather, it has taken your child. So they took their case before David who judged that the living child be given to the older woman, and then both of them went to Solomon son of David and told him about the matter. He said: bring me a knife so I can cut the child into two pieces and distribute it among them. The young lady said: do not do so, may Allah have mercy on you, because it is her child. Therefore, Solomon gave the child to the young lady.
Source: Sahih Bukhari 3244, Grade:  Sahih Mirdas Al-Aslami, RadhiAllahu Anhu  reported: The Messenger of Allah, SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, said: يَذْهَبُ الصَّالِحُونَ الْأَوَّلُ فَالْأَوَّلُ وَيَبْقَى حُفَالَةٌ كَحُفَالَةِ الشَّعِيرِ أَوْ التَّمْرِ لَا يُبَالِيهِمْ اللَّهُ بَالَةً Righteous people will be taken away one after another until only the dregs of people will remain like the sediment of barley or dates. Allah will have no esteem for them.
Source: Sahih Bukhari 6070, Grade:  Sahih Abdullah ibn Umar, RadhiAllahu Anhuma, reported: The Messenger of Allah, SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, said: إِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِقَوْمٍ عَذَابًا أَصَابَ الْعَذَابُ مَنْ كَانَ فِيهِمْ ثُمَّ بُعِثُوا عَلَى أَعْمَالِهِمْ When Allah intends to punish a people, the punishment afflicts everyone among them. Then they are resurrected according to their deeds.
