BENGAULRU: Members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Saturday forced a college professor in Karnataka to kneel down and apologise for a Facebook post praising Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan .
According to media reports, the incident took place at Vachana Pitamaha Dr PG Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology in Karnataka ‘s Vijayapura district.
Sandeep Varthar, the assistant professor of civil engineering in his Facebook post, also slammed “bhakts” and the BJP -led centre government for creating a war-like situation in the country.
The post read: “Who sounds more intelligent in all this? You **** all bhakts. You will [be] the reason for [the] destruction of millions of lives if this tension escalates. BJP is **** all party absolutely zero shame.” Sandeep has later on deleted the Facebook posts. However, the right-wing group activists, enraged over his posts, demanded the professor come out and apologise.
As the college management reportedly “convinced” him to do so, the acticists allegedly made him kneel apologize for his “mistake”. With folding his hands in obeisance he says, “I am sorry, I won’t do it again.”
