AZAMGARH: Rajya Sabha member Amar Singh ‘s parental property in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh will soon have a school run by an organisation affiliated to the Rashtrya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), the former Samajwadi leader said on Wednesday.
On his way to Azamgarh to register the property in the name of Seva Bharati, the RSS affiliate, the former national general secretary of the Samajwadi Party (SP) confirmed the development to IANS.
The three-storey building on the property in Tarwan market, after change of ownership would be used to run the school and other social work by the Sangh.
The school was most likely to be named after Amar Singh’s late father Thakur Harishchandra Singh. The property is estimated to be worth Rs 12 crore. Some land nearby is also being donated to the RSS and the registry is to be done at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office in Lalganj later in the day.
National organisational Secretary of the RSS, Rishipal Singh Dadwal will be present at the time of the registry.
“The Samajwadis, who are criticising this decision, have perhaps forgotten the history of predecessors. Akhilesh (SP president and former chief minister) has neither read literature nor tries to know the history of his party,” said Singh to Times Of India adding that only making Lohia park is not enough to know the great socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia.
