Hyderabad: CM of AP, Mr. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy enhanced the amounts of gifts given to the brides on the occasion of their marriages.
A GO was issued enhancing this amount to Re. 1 lakh.
It may be mentioned that AP Govt. was giving Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 50,000 for SCs and minorities under this scheme. They will now receive Re. 1 lakh. In addition to this, for performing inter caste marriages of SCs and STs, a sum of Rs. 75000 used to be given. It has also been enhanced to Rs. 1.2 lakh.
