Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janta Party will represent to the Governor on Saturday to celebrate September 17 Telangana Liberation Day officially.
A delegation led by Dr. Laxman State President Premender Reddy senior BJP Leader Srivardhan Reddy Telangana Vimochana Committee Chairman Swamy Goud and other important leaders of the Party will call on the Telangana Governor and request her to direct the State Government to celebrate the Telangana Liberation Day officially.
They pointed out that Karnataka and Maharastra which were part of erstwhile Hyderabad celebrate the Liberation Day officially then why not Telangana. Alleging that since MIM has been given the Opposition status and is a close ally of TRS the TRS does not want to celebrate the event officially.
On September 15 and 16 important leaders of the BJP will visit historic places associated with the Liberation struggle including Byrampalli ( Nizamabad) Appampalli (Mahbubnagar )Komrambheen (Asifabad) Behiurlamani (Nirmal ) Yerupalam (Khammam district) and pay tributes to the martyrs. Dr. Laxman, BJP State President, Senior BJP Leaders N. Indrasena Reddy, D.K. Aruna Member of Parliaments Bandi Sanjay, D Arvind, Soyyam Bapu Rao mlc n. Ramchander Rao, D.K. Aruna, and others will visit these historical places and will hoist the flag by 9 am at all these places. From 10 am to 12 noon a Tiranga yatra will be held in all gram panchayats Mandals Municipal Headquarters. This will be followed by a public meeting at 2 pm at Patancheru which will be addressed by Central Leaders.
Earlier Amit Shah National President and Union Home Minister were to participate but due to pressing engagements, he will not be attending. Central Union Ministers and Leaders will be addressing the public meeting they said.
Mr. Srivardhan Reddy said that the Vimochana committee recently organized a Photo exhibition at New Delhi of martyrs and unsung heroes of Telangana struggle before 1948 when Telangana was liberated.The event was attended by G. Kishen Reddy and Delhi President Manoj Tiwari Not many people were aware of the tragedies that struck the Telangana Liberation movement. Jalianwalla Bagh was one incident of the massacre which is remembered till date and tributes are paid to martyrs every year. In Telangana several such Massacres were held they recalled but yet the Chief Minister chose to ignore the official celebrations.
