Hyderabad: Himachal Pradesh governor Bandaru Dattatreya said on Thursday that the victory of good over evil was the essence of the Vijaya Dasami festival. He made these remarks while addressing a gathering at the ‘Alai Balai’ program organized by him at Jala Vihar in the city. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Dasara festival was a symbol of rich Telangana customs and practices. He said that he was happy that politicians cutting across party lines took part in his program. Dattatreya recalled that he had been organizing the festival since the last 15 years. He said that bonalu and batukamma festivals were the pride of the Telangana society. He called upon the people of the state to teach about the rich Telangana traditions and culture to their upcoming generations in order to increase their knowledge.
