MEWAT: A scuffle and stone pelting between supporters of the Congress and the BJP was reported from Nuh town around 8.45 a.m. on Monday while voting was in full swing for Haryana Assembly elections, an official said. Muslim-dominated Nuh district in Mewat has three Assembly constituencies — Nuh, Ferozpur Jhirka and Punhana and about five lakh voters.

Nuh — officially the most backward district in India is a home to half of Haryana’s 1.83 crore Muslims has never voted for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).  9 percent of voters turnout till 10 am, said an electoral official after polling started at 7 am across the state.
