A report of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar death went viral on the social media in India and was widely shared on the internet but there was no confirmation from any authoritative sources.
A Pakistani media report said on Sunday, quoting unnamed sources close to his family and stated that Masood Azhar is “alive.” Earlier Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also accepted on television that Masood Azhar was in Pakistan and that he was not well.
Another report from Islamabad stated that the JeM founder was undergoing dialysis in a Pakistan army hospital. Reports also claimed that after getting seriously injured in the air strike, Masood Azhar died in a hospital.
Masood Azhar is the chief of the same terror outfit which claimed the responsibility of suicide attack on Indian CRPF convoy in which over 40 CRPF personnel were martyred.
He was released by the NDA government in 1999 in exchange of hostages of the hijacked Indian Airlines plane IC-814, apart from the Pulwama terror strike, he has been accused of being the mastermind of the 2001 Parliament attack, suicide attack on Jammu and Kashmir state assembly and the attack on Pathankot IAF base.
