Hyderabad: An incident of HIV misdiagnosis allegedly took place in the city. This mistake was reportedly committed by Hyderabad Diagnostic Center (HDC).
Alleged misdiagnosis at HDC According the report published in Deccan Chronicle , a man by name Abdul Ahmed (34), native of Mahbubnagar had approached the diagnostic center for full body check up in February 2019. He had visited the center for medical certification which is needed for migration to Saudi Arabia.
The report of the check up claimed that he is suffering with viral infection. He was asked to undergo test again after 20 days. Although, the diagnostic center asked him to come back after days, he visited HDC on 25th September.
The center asked him to come on 5th October. The final reported issued by HDC claimed that the man is HIV-positive.
After the getting the final report, the man returned to his native place and contacted the doctor who asked him to undergo the test again. This time, he visited a different diagnostic test.
From HIV-positive to HIV-negative He got surprised after seeing the result of the test as it had declared him HIV-negative.
