IAS officer Kannan refuses to rejoin duty

Kannan Gopinathan , who tender his resignation on August 21 from Indian Administrative Service (IAS) has rejected the government order asking him to resume the duty till his resignation is accepted.
The 33-year-old bureaucrat submitted resignation from the service in Union Territory Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu in protest against the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.  Also Read Preferred freedom of speech to civil service: Kannan Gopinathan Speaking to The News Minute , Kannan says,“I don’t intend to get back into service, that is a closed thing, neither do I want to resume duty.” “Since I don’t intend to resume duty, it would only affect service rule conditions. This would be considered as unauthorized leave and it would be processed in that way,” Kannan says.

The notice was posted outside Kannan’s government guest house room.   The 2012 AGMUT cadre IAS officer tender his resignation from the service since he wanted his freedom of expression back and could freely respond on the Kashmir issue.
