Interfaith couple faces inconvenience after hotel denies room

Jaipur: A man and woman belonging to different religions faced inconvenience after a hotel located at Jaipur stopped them from checking in.
According to the report published in Indian Express , the man who is a Muslim had booked a room for two persons through a travel app. When he reached the hotel, the receptionist asked the details of the second person.
The man alleged that he was stopped from checking in after the hotel staff came to know that the woman is a Hindu.
Hotel staff’s claim As per the details given by the man who is an Asst. Professor, the hotel staff claimed that they are acting on the instructions given by the police. They also claimed that it is against the policy of the hotel to allow a couple of different religions.
“When I asked them to give it in writing, they denied”, the man alleged.   The man said that despite informing them that there is no such rule to deny room due to different religions, gender, the staff refused to allow him to check-in.
