Hyderabad: GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan on Tuesday inaugurated the intensive cleanliness drive and IEC campaign to improve Sanitation in Gaddinnaram area.
The aim of this intensive cleanliness drive is to keep the particular ward with all facilities  like, filling of pot holes, footpath, street lighting, cleaning nalas, lifting of accumulated garbage, C&D waste, spraying and fogging operations, removing unauthorized flexis, banners, taking up engineering repair works, and intensive sweeping.
Speaking on the occasion Mayor told that for 1 Crore population nearly 20,000 sanitation workers striving very hard day and night to keep the city clean. Whereas, some people are littering places instead of handing over it to Swachh Auto worker to avoid payment of Rs.50 monthly charges. This is evident from observing that garbage is piling at open places and also at in dust bins. To control this menace GHMC is proposing to keep CC camera at Garbage vulnerable points to levy penalties and punishment.
Further the mayor appealed the citizens to co-operate with the GHMC in keeping the city clean, and said as we keep our houses and establishments neat and clean it is also our responsibility to keep our surrounding clean.  The apartment people and colony people should keep the garbage of all residents at one particular place so that the Swachh Auto worker can lift the garbage from single point instead of collecting it from each house hold there by save time and enables to cover more areas.
MLA Sudheer Reddy, said due to lack of coordination with the wings, duplication of work is more such as after desilting of nalas, repair of road works and cleaning of drainage the waste material is left un lifted and after some time the same material comes in nalas and drains there by wasting manpower and money and requested not to repeat such mistakes while executing other works in future.
