New Delhi: Reacting against the venom spitting by Republic Channel of Arnab Goswami, President Jamat-e-Islami Hind Maulana Jalaluddin Umari said Jamat-e-Islami Hind has nothing to do with Jamat-e-Islami Jammu & Kashmir. This is very clear and everyone knows that. He said it is necessary to first gather evidence before forming an opinion about any organisation.
An organisation cannot be wrong just by declaring it wrong. He said Jamat-e-Islami Jammu & Kashmir is no more a political party. It is working for religion and society. People should know that.
Maulana said as far as I am concerned, everyone knows I am associated with Jamat-e-Islami Hind for the past 65 years and also working as an editor of a research journal for 40 years. After knowing all this, saying that I have become commander of so and so place is completely wrong and we strongly condemn this. He further said he will meet the channel persons and clear his position; if the channel publishes corrigendum or render an apology, the matter will be closed; but if needed legal action will be taken.
