MALEGAON: Mufti Mohammad Ismail, a cleric-turned-politician wants Muslim regiment in Army to take on Pakistan, two days after a suicide bomber from Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad terror group rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a CRPF convoy killing 40 personnel and leaving at least a dozen critically injured.
According to The Indian Express reports, Ismail said: “What Pakistan has done is heinous and anti-Islamic. If this violence is being done in the name of Islam and Muslims, I would request the Indian government to help raise a Muslim regiment that will fight this battle against Pakistan. I personally will help in ensuring the recruitment of 25,000 Muslim men from Malegaon alone in this regiment.” [also_read url=”https://www.siasat.com/news/how-crpf-troopers-got-trapped-1468167/”]How CRPF troopers got trapped[/also_read] A protest against the Pulwama attack was also organised in Malegaon on Friday.
