Siasat’s Bengaluru edition completes two decades: Zahid Ali Khan, Roshan Baig address

Hyderabad: In the garden city of Bengaluru, a bright chapter was added in the history of Urdu Mushairas when a Mushaira continued till the wee hours on 1st March.
MLA and former Minister, Mr. Roshan Baig had organized a Mushaira to mark two decades of completion of Siasat’s Bengaluru edition. The Mushaira was organized at Bengaluru Palace. Selected Urdu poets from all over the country were invited. The Mushaira was dedicated to the martyrs who laid down their lives in Pulwama incident. Most of the poets paid rich tributes to our soldiers highlighting their patriotism. The Mushaira was started by observing two minute silence and recitation of national anthem.
Mr. Roshan Baig in his welcome address paid rich tributes to the martyrs. The Mushaira was sponsored by IMA Group of Companies.
In his welcome address, Mr. Roshan Baig stressed the need for unity and said that our country is passing through a phase in which even our soldiers are not safe. He stressed the need for the government to punish those who are responsible for this incident. He also expressed his anxiety over the prevailing narrow mindedness. He told that this Mushaira is a small tribute for those martyrs.
Promoting the tradition and culture of Mushairas, he told that Urdu newspapers have played a constructive role for the progress of society.
Mr. Roshan Baig recalled that he had started Siasat’s Bengaluru edition in 1999 and since then, it has been progressing well. He welcomed all the guests.
