Sydney: Indian top-order batsman Cheteshwar Pujara continued with his brilliant run in the ongoing fourth Test against Australia as the visitors reached a total of 389 runs at the loss of five wickets at lunch on day two of the match here at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday.
Resuming at yesterday’s total of 303 runs, India lost just one wicket, and were in complete command of the first session of the day.
For the first wicket of the day, overnight batsman Pujara and Hanuma Vihari added 26 runs more to the team’s total before latter was picked up by Australian spinner Nathon Lyon. Vihari attempted a premeditated sweep which resulted in a little flick on the edge of the bat. He was caught at the short leg by Marnus Labuschagne.
Pujara, who was playing at a score of 181 at Lunch, is on the verge of scoring a double ton in Australia. Pant, on the other hand, is holding the crease at the score of alongside Pujara at the score of 27.
India are leading the ongoing Test series 2-1 and are eying to clinch the final Test in order to register a historic Test series win in Australia.
