Hyderabad: The 17th Rural Technology Crafts SHG Mela inaugurated at Rural Technology Park at NIRD&PR by the Governor of Telangana Tamila Sai Soundara Rajan on Friday. In the Mela women Self Help Groups from 24 states are participated from 122 Districts.
The no. of SHG women participated is 320. The main attraction of the Mela is the products from North East. i.e., Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim apart from the other states of the Sothern India like Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh besides Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
While Inaugurating the Mela, the Governor had appeal to the people of the Hyderabad to visit the Mela which has many specialities and support the SHGs who are participating from across the country by patronising them.
She appreciated the theme of the Mela that is women entrepreneurship and the proposed follow up from the NIRDPR is contemplating to build up the capacities of SHGs duly identifying deficiencies if any and to create the better market , better product design and better packaging so that the SHG women can compete with the branded products in the market.
The programme was presided by Dr W R Reddy IAS DG, NIRDPR, while the Deputy Director General Mss Radhika Rasthogi welcomed the Governor and Mr Md. Khan, Sr. Consultant proposed the vote of thanks.
The Mela will be for 5 days that is up to 3rd Dec 2019 and all the days the Mela will be open from 11AM to 10PM. The added attraction of the Mela is Fish festival by the NFDB and variety of the cultural programmes by the young and dynamic professionals.
