New Delhi: Taraji P. Henson and Ed Helms have been roped in to star in the police drama ‘Coffee and Kareem’.
According to a report by Variety, Helms will portray the role of a Detroit cop and Henson will play his girlfriend.
The plot of the film, scripted by Shane McCarthy, follows Helms’ character, which reluctantly teams with his girlfriend’s 11-year-old son to clear his name and take down the city’s most ruthless criminal.
Direction of this Netflix original film will be helmed by Michael Dowse. The production of the film will be handled by Helms and Mike Falbo via their Pacific Electric Picture Co. banner.
Henson’s past credits include ‘Acrimony’, ‘Proud Mary’, ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ and ‘No Good Deed,’ and can be currently seen in the gender-swapped comedy ‘What Men Want.’ Meanwhile, Helms is known for his work in films like ‘The Hangover’, ‘Vacation’ and ‘The Clapper’.
