Hyderabad: The students of Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions in the State outclassed participants from six countries and clinched international medals in Karate.
Jatoth Nehasri secured Kumite gold medal in under-14 category and Sanapa. Vidya secured Kumite bronze medal in under-16 category at the 6th Legend International Karate Championship 2019, which was held from June 30 to July 1 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
TWREI Secretary Dr RS Praveen Kumar congratulated the girls for their outstanding performance and said, “It is a matter of pride that our girls have been showing extra-ordinary talent in martial arts. It is imperative to equip girls with basic self-defence techniques, because self-defence is utmost important for girls in the kind of world we live in today”.
