Guwahati: The Assan National Register of Citizens was released today and we must say it did not really go down well with the ruling saffron party as the state BJP lashed out claiming it’s a ‘conspiracy to keep Hindus out’.
Well now there seems some kind of transparency to the system since things did not come out as they were expected after the election results that made BJP a ruling party not only in the Centre but also in many majority states.
The final NRC left out many genuine citizens especially refugees who migrated from Bangladesh before 1971.   “The Names of many Indian citizens who migrated from Bangladesh as refugees prior to 1971 have not been included in the NRC because authorities refused to accept refugee certificates,” tweeted Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who lashed out as soon as the final list was released.
“Many names got included because of manipulation of legacy data as alleged by many,” he added.
He previously said that he had no faith in the NRC and that he didn’t think it would help remove the so-called illegal immigrants.
