Fadnavis’s Deputy CM Ajit resigns ahead of floor test

Mumbai: In a major setback to BJP- Ajit Pawar led Maharashtra government, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar resigns from his post on today.
Earlier, NCP leader Ajit Pawar stunned his party by engineering an alliance without informing the party in a midnight coup with the BJP which saw Devendra Fadnavis return to power, News18 reports.
His resignation comes soon after the SC ordered a floor test to be held within 24 hours to BJP proving the majority.
Meanwhile, Devandra Fadnavis is slated to address the media at 3.30pm when the announcement is likely to be made official.
